"Gardens are places of struggle, surprise, and deep mystery-places where we are often reduced to silence and awe." ~ Norman Wirzba
Life is like gardening. Seeds are sown. They sprout, blossom, and (in a good year) produce fruit. Gardening can be richly rewarding. Yet it has painful parts, too: pests come to attack tender plants, or to eat ripening fruit. Drought and heat weaken plants. And even without environmental challenges, proper care for plants includes weeding, fertilizing, and pruning.
